Great sandwiches! A small number of Italian pantry goods in larger sizes so if you need a gallon of artichoke hearts, get in here.A cooler of frozen home made stuff, too.

We stop by Bertos to grab so ething to eat anytime we are driving thru town.

This spot obviously knows how to satisfy their clients. Consistently with a very nice attitude. The food is affordably priced, regularly tasty and clean.

Best subs in the world

Lol they now promote 12 inch subs with "prices that vary", but yet they're the same price as the 18 inch? Idk if it was a human error. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt . Watch out when they're ringing up your order.Btw the fact that this place is considered the best Italian deli in Downers Grove shows how bad DG is lacking in good sandwich places lol.

I used to work in downtown Downers. Berto's was a staple of mine. Just revisited. Still such a high quality deli! A very unique place if you're passing through town.

Nice little deli. I will have to try more sandwiches the more times I go there. Caprese Sandwich was a good snack during a bike ride. Excellent service and the people who work there are very welcoming. Will be back.

Berto's is kind of an unassuming, hidden gem, however greatly appreciated locally. The Berto sandwich is awesome! Perfect combination of meats, cheese, and condiment. Berto's is also a good source for italian meats/cheeses/pastas. I recently struggled to get pancetta sliced a quarter of an inch - went to Whole Foods, Jewell; couldn't get it - called Berto's, problem solved. Highly recommend!

Had lunch for $22,way pricy and only cookies were special.I don't need to pay for bread and butter,along pasta,$9, I only asked for lasagna

The sandwiches are delicious. It's a quick walk from the house which is great. The prices can be a little high when I get a sandwich, chips and a drink. But I love their food too much to care!

The Linda Sandwich is the best. Order it off the menu.

I've been coming here for a couple years now, the sandwiches are fresh, the service is friendly and there is plenty of space to sit down and eat inside or out.I've had the veggie, eggplant parm, tuna, pasta - all recommended. You can buy meats, cheeses and a variety of canned and prepared foods as well.

The sandwiches are decent, but don't sit at one of their tables outside with a cup of coffee or you will be quickly apprehended and asked to leave. Last time I checked, their tables were on public sidewalks. Maybe Downers Grove needs to rethink their policy, or bertos needs some friendlier staff.

Just an all around nice place to grab a lunch., My family has used them for catering - good quality pastas. Not fancy, but the prices are very reasonable, and the quality is great. It reminds me of local neighborhood Italian delis from my childhood in Chicago.

Food was good made as directed. Priced very reasonably. 3 workers observed 2/3 m and f were both to Kool for sandwiches , dismissive and overall unpleasant toward customers. If I am paying for food should expect some level of appreciation not a feeling im annoying your cashier(s). Again delicious no complaints outside of unfriendly cashiers.

Best Italian sandwiches around! The prosciutto sub is my absolute favorite. Usually my wife and I don’t eat the entire night or morning before we go there and then we eat an 18” sub each!!! They are that good! Also there meatballs are phenomenal.

I would intentionally stub my toe on a coffee table every morning if it meant getting Bertos for lunch

I love this place, it's been around since I was a kid and I stop by every time I'm back in town.

This place is a hidden gem! Sandwiches made to order with high quality ingredients. Pasta salads are very good (bowtie is my favorite) and their made fresh in-house giardiniera salad can be eaten by itself. Best of all? Customer service. Very nice people who enjoy their job work here and it shows in how they present themselves with the public. They've been around for longer than the 25 years I've lived in Downers Grove and there is a clear reason why.
